YMT Technologies strikes distribution agreement with DMG Mori UK

The agreement also gives YMT exclusive rights to sell within the same region the DMG MORI Ecoline range of entry-level vertical and horizontal machining centres and CNC lathes. Richard Watkins, sales director, DMG Mori (UK), said: "The new arrangement, which is unique for us in mainland Britain, is in recognition of the informal, but successful business relationship we have built up with YMT, dating back more than a decade. "Our customers in the south will benefit from an additional layer of contact and support from local, experienced engineers. "The relationship may develop to extend YMT's responsibilities into providing after-sales service, training and applications engineering, but, for the present, these remain the responsibility of DMG Mori." Speaking for YMT Technologies, Howard Mancey, sales director, added: "We are sole sales and service agent in the UK for two Taiwanese machine tool principals, which manufacture CNC lathes and machining centres. German-built DMG Mori machines dovetail perfectly with these products. "The Ecoline range is lower cost than our current offerings, particularly the 5-axis machining centres. "At the other end of the scale, the German manufacturer's premium machines sit above our products from Taiwan, in terms of capability, and also take us into new areas, such as multi-spindle autos and advanced technologies like ultrasonics and laser machining." DMG Mori Ecoline lathes and machining centres are on permanent display in YMT's Yeovil showroom and are available for demonstration and cutting trials. Machines are also stocked for quick delivery to customers. Buy-back in part-exchange for new machine purchases and finance options are offered, as well as machine refurbishment and the sale of pre-owned plant.
