Yamazaki Mazak EMO Encore Open House brings latest developments to UK

1 min read

Yamazaki Mazak will host an EMO Encore Open House at its European Technology Centre in Worcester from the 19 to the 22 November 2013, displaying 20 machines, many taking in new technologies first exhibited at EMO.

In addition, the Open House will feature 15 minute Mazatrol training sessions; factory tours of one of Europe's most advanced manufacturing facilities and a competition each day. A highlight of the EMO Encore Open House will be the Integrex e-1250V/8II, a new machine designed to produce very large diameter complex parts, such as those typically found in the aerospace or power generation sectors. It is the latest addition to the Integrex e-V. The e-1250V/8II will be joined by the latest variant of Mazak's Integrex i-series, the Integrex i-100S, which features a large machining area, compact ergonomic design and high accuracy axis performance, plus the latest generation Matrix 2 CNC, to deliver unsurpassed productivity. The i-100S on show at the Open House has been equipped with a new Bartac S bar-feed system, which offers integrated work unloading and conveyor handling of completed workpieces. The new Bartac has increased bar capacity (102 mm), whilst retaining the machine's small footprint. The Optiplex 3015 Fiber II laser profiler eliminates laser gas used in conventional laser processing machines, along with the gas for purging optical components. It delivers an 80% reduction in oscillator and chiller unit electric power consumption when laser cutting. Equipped with a 4.0 kW continuous rated output fibre laser oscillator, the machine is ideal for the high speed cutting of thin worksheets. In tandem with its sister machine, the Optiplex 3015, a CO2 laser cutting machine, it enables Mazak to offer energy efficient laser cutting solutions for both thick and thin materials. Open House visitors can also use the new Mazak iPad App, which is free-of-charge and gives details of all the machines exhibited at EMO in an easy-to-use reader-friendly manner. The App is organised in a similar fashion to the EMO stand, with a variety of zones, including turning, multi-tasking and horizontal machining centres. Richard Smith, managing director – sales at Yamazaki Mazak, said: "We are delighted to be able to bring back to the UK many of the new machines that were given their European debuts at EMO 2013. This Open House is an outstanding opportunity for machine tool users who were unable to make it to EMO to see the latest Mazak technology in action; talk to our application engineers and tour the factory to see our machines being made."
