Last year was WNT (UK)'s best ever year, in terms of direct sales growth.
Turnover for the Sheffield-based, German-owned cutting tool supplier increased by £2.3 million to a total of £10.7 million - a growth of 28 per cent.
“The continuing success of WNT (UK) is due to the philosophy of delivering on our promises,” says Tony Pennington, WNT (UK)’s managing director. “These promises include our commitment to deliver cutting tools of the highest quality with the support of a highly skilled team of technical sales engineers backed by our guarantee of on-time delivery.”
To ensure that the coming year’s growth target is achieved, WNT (UK) will undertake a major investment programme that will involve the recruitment of an additional three technical sales engineers to complement the existing team of 30. This will be backed by intensive training for all of the technical sales team.
Customers will also benefit from an investment of £200,000 in WNT’s innovative Tool Service machines that will take place during 2007. This money is being spent to install an additional 50 Tool Service vending machines in customers’ premises, bringing the total number of units installed in the UK to 175.
“We operate in a very competitive business environment and we recognise that high-quality products alone are not necessarily enough to convince customers to buy from us,” says Mr Pennington. “This is why we will continue to ensure that WNT (UK)’s quality of service and customer support is second to none as this is the key to winning new customers and to retaining the business we already have."
