WNT Tooling Academy will benefit customers

To further enhance the support offered by its techical sales engineers, WNT recently opened a Tooling Academy located in Reutte, Austria at the headquarters of its parent company, Ceratizit.

“This academy, which all of our sales engineers attend, is equipped with the latest in CNC machine tool technology,” says Tony Pennington, WNT (UK)’s managing director. “It provides an ideal opportunity for our technical sales engineers to test our products to their limits. This, in turn, provides them with a much better understanding of the capabilities of the cutting tools and the ability to prescribe the correct solutions when faced with real-life customer metalcutting issues.” Currently the Tooling Academy is only available for in-house training. However, the long-term plan is to make this facility available to customers who will be able to take advantage of it to undertake problem solving – for instance, on difficult to machine materials – and to provide training for their own tooling specialists. “Having the Tooling Academy available to us is further evidence of WNT’s commitment to its customers in regard to delivering the optimum in service and support. This, combined with our constant innovation in cutting tool technology, will be a major advantage to WNT (UK) and its customers,” underscored Mr Pennington.
