WNT makes tool regrinding easier

WNT (UK) is enhancing its cutter regrind and recoat service, first launched in 2000.

"When we first launched the regrind and recoat service in the UK, it was seen as supplementary to our main business of selling new cutting tools," said Tony Pennington, managing director, WNT (UK). "However, as with all elements of our business, we have kept this service under constant review and this has allowed us to identify subtle changes that were required in order to deliver the optimum service to our customers." The service, which covers drills, end mills and other solid carbide tooling in the WNT range, sees tools reground and recoated using the original geometries and high-performance coatings. The tool-life of the reground and recoated tools is normally at least 90 per cent of the original tool. With immediate effect for orders over £50 in value, the service will now include collection and delivery by UPS, so customers can be assured their cutters will be returned within 10 days. WNT (UK) is backing up its confidence in the service by offering a £10 credit if it fails to meet its delivery promise. "Traditionally, it has been the responsibility of the user to get tools back to the supplier for regrinding," said Mr Pennington. "We have taken this additional burden away from them by arranging for UPS to collect the tools and return them within 10 days. All the customer now has to do is contact our Sheffield office and request a collection. We will do the rest."
