Vericut shows new face to industry

CGTech has launched a new version of its Vericut CNC simulation software offering a newly-designed interface, as well as nearly 500 other enhancements and changes that it claims increase processing speed, offer longer tool life and increased part quality.

In version 7.4, the first thing a user will notice is a Welcome Screen offering common first actions that automatically displays when first launching a Vericut session. A new docking method enables Vericut’s desktop to be configured in the most efficient manner. Additionally, the Status window is completely redesigned for better viewing, customisation and size. A new tool bar located at the top of the tool manager window consists of a combination of icons and pull-down menus. All Tool Definition windows have been re-designed to make tool definition easier.

The software also offers new interfaces for integration with software packages Creo Parametric 3.0, CAMWorks and SolidWorks, although interfaces for nearly every major CAM system are available. In addition, in terms of Industry 4.0 integration, there is connectivity with Kennametal’s NOVO, Iscar’s IQCloud, and other tooling suppliers via the Machining Cloud.

“The enhancements in version 7.4 provide the speed organisations need to rapidly release new part programs to the shop floor, train new users, and continually optimise workpiece quality to ensure customer satisfaction,” says CGTech Ltd managing director John Reed.

“Changes to how users interact with Vericut further improve Vericut’s workflow and simplify day-to-day NC programming and simulation use.”
