Tornos targets new market with delta range

Tornos UK has seen an increase in sales to new customers since the launch of its Delta range of CNC turning centres.

The series comprises nine rigid and robust models from 12 to 20mm diameter capacity in 3, 4 and 5 axes, with the Swiss manufacturer now delivering an altogether simpler range of machining solutions alongside its mid- and high-end machines. Not departing from Tornos' historical market of high specification, high end machine tools; the new Delta range compliments the current range whilst keeping with the company's development strategy to offer machining solutions for all types of needs relating to automatic turning machines. The Tornos Delta 12 and Delta 20 machines are aimed at all companies involved in the bar-turning industry manufacturing low complexity workpieces requiring 3, 4 or 5 axis machining. This will give existing Tornos customers a new means of production with a wider range of machine choice. The new range also targets manufacturers that demand high quality turning centres with a relatively low specification that are not yet familiar with the Tornos brand and it is this market that has developed at an impressive rate since the launch of the Delta. The Tornos Delta range is supplied with a 3 meter barfeed, live tooling, counter spindle with Y-axis plus the option of a guide bushless system that reduces bar stock remnants. The guide bushless system has proven a resounding success since the launch of the Delta range. The attraction of significantly reduced waste and the associated material costs has proven a major selling point for UK customers. Additionally the guide bushless system enables the operator to machine up to the collet, thus increasing the z axis capacity for the compact Delta.
