Tornos Open House brings EMO debuts to UK

Tornos UK will be holding an Open House at its Coalville facility from 11 to 13 of October, to introduce a range of new turning innovations that will have been launched at the EMO exhibition this month.

The theme of the event will be one-hit machining and the reduction of bar-end waste. Tornos will be demonstrating its expertise in these areas by introducing to the UK for the first time the new EvoDeco 10, Sigma 32 and the 5-axis Delta 38 turning centres. This will be the first opportunity for UK customers to view the EvoDeco 10a turning centre, a 10 mm, 10-axis machine offering improved tooling flexibility, power and torque, with an additional Y-axis as standard. Another UK premiere will be the Delta 38/5, a 38 mm capacity machine with 5 axes and a 11KW spindle featuring Tornos' unique guide bush design to minimise bar remnants. Also receiving its UK introduction will be the Sigma 32. Regarded as the only Swiss-type sliding headstock machine capable of producing parts using the parameters of a fixed headstock machine, the Sigma 32 has a heavy duty construction for main and counter-operations. Alongside the new introductions will be the proven Gamma 20/6b and the Delta 20/5 III. Both machines will demonstrate Tornos' dual capability to operate as conventional sliding-head machines or as guide bush-less machines. The Gamma and Delta to be shown at Coalville are both 20 mm machines having 6 and 5 axes respectively. The Open House will also give customers a chance to meet the new additions to the Tornos team - Lee Thomas, an experienced applications engineer, and Ben Healy, the new Northern accounts manager. The event will also have innovations from technology partners and suppliers of supporting equipment, with new products on show from ITC, Rainford Precision, Floyd Automatic Tooling, Kraft & Bauer, Blum Novotest, Jemtech, Emmaco UK and PSL Datatrack. There will also be two free prize draws that will be sponsored by Lease UK.
