Under a theme of “Together we shape the future of manufacturing”, Sandvik Coromant will also highlight its work in Industry 4.0 topics such as digital transformation, intelligent machining, digital product and application recommendations and tool data in ISO format. The company recently acquired Prometec, a sophisticated process monitoring company, and opened the Additive Manufacturing Center in Sweden. It will show how Sandvik Coromant uses additive manufacturing (AM) to inspire high fashion as it displays one-of-a kind, 3D-printed steel shoes created with Lady Gaga fashion designer, Naim Josefi.

Milling tools including CoroMill 390 with size 07 inserts and CoroMill 745, a double-sided multi-edge tool for positive cutting are being launched at the show. Visitors are advised to look out for new insert grade GC1130 with Zertivo technology that has a coating and substrate that can handle the toughest materials at the highest cutting data. Also new this year is the CoroTurn 300, featuring eight-edge, long lasting inserts and iLock interface for the highest insert stability and accuracy.

As principal sponsor of the Learning and Development Zone, which is next to the stand, Sandvik Coromant is supporting the MTA’s aim to attract, inspire, and motivate the next generation of British engineers. Young Engineers from Sandvik Coromant will also be taking part in the Apprentices at Work stand within the L&D Zone.

Says Kim Olander, senior marketing professional at Sandvik Coromant: “Once again, we are delighted to sponsor the Learning and Development Zone for student visitors at MACH. Showing the next generation of manufacturing employees the opportunities that are available to them is just as important as showcasing our tools. At Sandvik Coromant, we believe the commitment we make to youth today will help drive the progress of tomorrow.”
