MACH 2014 - New Sandvik Coromant carbide tools

1 min read

Sandvik Coromant will show its knowledge and insight into metal cutting challenges of different sectors with two new products at MACH.

The spotlight will be on assortment of new insert grades for steel turning and cast iron milling with Inveio technology. The first of these is GC4325, which is a new coated cemented-carbide tool for steel turning. Two additional grades, GC4315 and GC3330, will be announced at MACH with GC4315 able to withstand higher cutting temperatures and GC3330 for milling cast iron. The big development in these inserts is that Sandvik Coromant has found a way to control the crystal formation in the coating, making them line up in the same direction – towards the top surface. These tightly-packed crystals create a strong barrier towards the cutting zone and chip. The result is grades with incredible wear resistance and cutting edges that remain intact for longer. The firm will also show its CoroCut QD which expands the options for deep grooves and parting off with a new offer of inserts and durable tools with rigid clamping and an efficient coolant supply. Finally, the company will talk to visitors about its Machine Investment support service. Many customers have been able to reduce the cost of producing a component after Sandvik Coromant presented alternative solutions for tools and programming. Based on many typical Machine Investment cases, manufacturers can start making profit from day one, can increase productivity by 15% or more, and can reduce payback time by 12 to 15 months, says the firm. See them in Hall 5 on Stand 5660.
