Rovic installs XYZ ProTurn lathe

Elliott Sanders (pictured), one of the company's apprentices, has just celebrated the first year of his training with Rovic and the second year of his apprenticeship will see him get to grips with the new machine, which has a swing over bed of 560 mm; swing in gap of 800 mm; distance between centres of 1,750 mm; spindle bore of 104 mm; and spindle speed of 30 – 1,800 rpm. A number of specialist high tensile strength custom components for customer Ocean Yacht Systems in Christchurch have already rolled off the production line this week. Rovic provides a complete, overall turn-key engineering capability and project management. It produces machined components in most materials for its 'build to print' customers and also has a special-purpose machinery design and production capability.
