Yamazaki Mazak reports sales of more than £3 million for the MACH 2012 exhibition held in April.
Mazak, which exhibited eight machines across two stands, says the orders came from a wide variety of sectors, including aerospace, automotive, general subcontracting and oil and gas.
In addition, new business enquiries were taken for machine tools across the entire range, in particular the Integrex and Variaxis series. Furthermore, the UK-designed-and-built machines, which were represented at MACH by the Vertical Centre Smart 430A, generated significant interest, the company says.
During the course of MACH 2012, the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Dr Vince Cable, visited the Mazak stand and was greeted by UK sales director Tony Saunders, who said: "The strength of our performance at MACH 2012 mirrors the strength of the UK machine tool sector at the present time. In talking to customers at the show, we discovered a lot of confidence about current trading conditions and strong interest in further investment to boost productivity and efficiency. We were particularly pleased to welcome the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills to our stand so soon after his recent visit to our manufacturing facility in Worcester."
