MACH 2014 delivered impressive levels of enquiries, leads and sales for Yamazaki Mazak, while Business Secretary Vince Cable also put in an appearance on the company's stand.

The company achieved record stand visits during the show from both new and existing customers, who were able to view the latest machining technology, including machines from the Integrex i-series and Variaxis ranges. The company's stand drew a visit from Business Secretary Vince Cable, who spoke at length to Marcus Burton, European group managing director at Yamazaki Mazak, about the importance of manufacturing in the UK. Dr Cable, who has previously visited Mazak's factory in Worcester, was interested to learn about the company's plans for further investment in UK manufacturing in support of export to European markets. MACH also saw the launch of the new version of its Mazak's successful VTC 800 series, the VTC 800/30 HD vertical machining centre at MACH. The new VTC 800/30 HD, which stands for heavy duty, is a 50 taper variant that has been specifically designed to machine materials that are hard to cut, such as Inconel and titanium. Richard Smith, Yamazaki Mazak managing director UK & Ireland sales division said: "MACH was the perfect opportunity to launch a machine that has been long-awaited by UK machine tool users. The new 50 taper version of our highly successful, and UK-built, VTC 800 series machine attracted enormous interest during MACH and we are confident its successful launch at the show can provide a springboard for its successful roll-out into the UK market. "MACH 2014 has proven to be one of our most successful exhibitions in terms of enquiries, leads and sales from customers across a range of sectors including aerospace, through to energy, automotive and general subcontracting."
