Sandvik Coromant offers support for tubing hangers

Sandvik Coromant says it can offer a selection of tools and grades that address turning and grooving challenges when machining tubing hangers, used in oil and gas production wells.

For instance, GC4325 and GC4315 insert grades for internal and external turning offer high levels of wear resistance, the ability to withstand high cutting temperatures, and cutting edges that stay in shape for long contact times, says the company. As a result, they help to address the challenge of reduced tool life from interrupted cuts when cross-hole and over-hole machining. What's more, enhanced productivity, security and improved surface finishes can be achieved by combining the inserts with Silent Tools, dampened boring bars and adapters.

In addition, to address demands for machining deep grooves and parting-off in long overhangs, Sandvik Coromant provides the CoroCut QD range of inserts and durable tools with over- and under-coolant.
