As part of its hardmetal blank and semi-finished sintered product capability, LMT’s Boehlerit division in Austria is now producing a customer specific design and development service for sintered tool blanks.
Included are tools such as hobs, shank style cutters, reamers, drills, fir-tree root cutters and brazed tips as well as general sintered products.
The Boehlerit division is a leading supplier of tungsten carbide components for wear parts used in the mining industry and tooling sector. Tools can be developed with or without through coolant facility and through its submicrograin hardmetal technology can provide tools with cobalt contents between 6 and 15 per cent.
All hardmetal products used in cutting, non-cutting, forming and wear parts, using near ‘netshape’ design, are produced in-house using the latest sinter-HIP process giving high levels of security against breakage, cutting edge stability and having high transverse rupture resistance due to the homogenous and pore-less texture of the processes used.
LMT Boehlerit also provides a development and production facility to provide special grades, and as-sintered, highly precise, internal and external forms and threads. Available within the company is PVD/CVD coating facilities
