Roy Hopkins has joined the tooling support team at LMT (UK) of Coventry.

He is tasked to develop production support, training and tooling application for distributors in the UK as well as expand the distributor network in key areas. “Roy Hopkins has had some 30 years of front line experience in the tooling industry throughout Europe and in the USA, has been very involved in distributorship and not only understands the demands put on this sector of industry, but also is able to create viable solutions that are readily acceptable to customers of this important area of tool supply,” said managing LMT (UK) director Trevor Tolley. LMT already has some 40 active distributors throughout the UK to handle the majority of the 30,000 different products available from the six companies that make up this rapidly expanding privately owned tooling development and manufacturing group. Distributors are seen by LMT (UK) as very important in the expansion of the provision of local user support, providing they are trained in the product range and are willing to service the needs of smaller machining companies, particularly those providing sub-contract services.
