JCNC, Newbridge, Co Kildare, has been appointed to sell Star multi-axis CNC mill-turn centres, both the established sliding-head range and the new fixed-headstock models, throughout the whole of Ireland.

The agreement was concluded between JCNC owner Jamie Fletchmoore (pictured) and Bob Hunt, managing director of Derbyshire-based Star Micronics GB. The deal also allows JCNC to sell FMB bar magazines and JBS compensating guide bushes, as Star GB is sole agent for the two German manufacturers in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Mr Fletchmoore, who has over 25 years' experience in machine tool sales, service and application support, started his company as recently as 2007 but already offers an impressive portfolio of products aimed at the manufacturing sector. In addition to leading makes of Japanese-built machine tools, the company offers a variety of tooling, engineering software and automation equipment. "I believe JCNC's success is down to our user-orientated approach. First we engineer a turnkey package that offers the best value for money for a customer, then we build the sale around that. Star GB is also an applications-led and service-orientated sales organisation. Both Bob Hunt and I believe there is synergy between our companies in terms of the engineered solutions we can offer existing and prospective users of Star lathes throughout Ireland," says Mr Fletchmoore.
