Recently established International Manufacturing Solutions (IMS) has reported an order bag of nearly half a million euros (£388,500) from exhibition MACH 2016, helping to deliver a successful first year for the company.

An order for a GER large vertical spindle CNC grinding machine was placed at the exhibition, representing the conclusion to ongoing negotiations.

Having completed its first 12 months in business, this latest win has allowed IMS to celebrate orders approaching one million euros (£777,000) for its inaugural year.

Spanish firm GER has been building grinding machines for more than 60 years and sells them in over 25 countries. IMS was collocated with GER at the MACH 2016 event; both companies’ first appearance at the biennial show. And in addition to the order taken on the second day, 20-plus enquiries with an identifiable requirement were logged, IMS reports.

Since the April exhibition, quotations worth well in excess of €600,000 (£466,000) have been have been issued, all to companies new to IMS and directly attributable to exhibiting at MACH 2016.Commenting on this success, IMS director Philip Wilkinson says: “We are delighted with the success but, to be honest, were not entirely surprised. GER offers an extraordinary range of machines, both in terms of types of grinding machine and size.

“GER’s basic range takes in CNC cylindrical grinders, CNC plane and profile surface grinders, CNC vertical grinders, CNC internal grinders and CNC rotary table grinders. As an example of sizes available, cylindrical grinders with between centres capacities of from 350 to 6,000 mm can be found in the standard range.”

There are over 100 standard GER models available.
