HKB adds D2 steel to its shelves
HKB Steel Services, part of Barrett Engineering Steels, has added D2 tool steel to its product line. It is available in 2,000 to 3,000 mm lengths and in diameters of 51 to 303 mm.
D2 steel exhibits high resistance against abrasive wear, good dimensional stability and high compressive strength.
Typical applications can be found in: cutting; punching; stamping tools; shear blades; thread rolling dies; cold extrusion dies; drawing and bending tools; flanging and straightening rolls; fine cutting tools; deep drawing tools; and plastics moulds for abrasive polymers.
As well as its large steel stockholding facilities, HKB, based in Warley, West Midlands, provides cutting services using the latest TSUNE carbide saws and computer controlled bandsaws. A single cut, same-day service is offered, as are multi-cut items from 6 to 650 mm in diameter.
