Seco launches EPB boring heads for Steadyline damping bars

Seco Tools has extended its Steadyline vibration damping system with the introduction of EPB 610 rough boring heads and EPB 620 radial-type fine boring heads.

Featuring Seco’s patented GL Connection, the heads are used in combination with Seco Capto turning Steadyline bars, allowing the assembled heads and bars to be used for rotational boring operations in machining applications up to 10xD.

Available in diameters ranging from 36 to 69 mm, the EPB 610 rough boring heads have a robust design to withstand the rigours of roughing even the most demanding materials, says Seco Tools.

The EPB 620 fine boring heads are available in diameters from 34 to 69 mm and feature fine-pitch, micro-adjustable screws that enable the heads to be repositioned incrementally. Used in conjunction with the Steadyline vibration damping bars, Seco says that surface finishes of <1 Ra can be obtained.
