Ajax introduces interactive CNC mill at MACH (stand 5194)

In addition to a range of lathes (see linked story), Ajax Machine Tools is showing off the Interactive CNC milling machine, its AJV550 machining centre and also its Evolution CNC lathe.

For manufacturers interested in machine tools with greater human interaction, Ajax’s Interactive CNC mill incorporates a Fagor 8055 conversational control with simplistic programming options. This fully interactive teach control is said to be the perfect step for a machine shop that demands the flexibility of a manual machine shop that is combined with productivity levels of a CNC facility. The Interactive Mill is also supplied with Ajax's AJCBM 720 Interactive R8 Spindle that allows end users to efficiently and productively machine parts within the spacious travel of 720 by 380 by 500 mm in X, Y and Z axes, all starting at the industry leading price of £19,950.

The AJV550 machining centre offers travel of 550mm by 400mm by 500mm in X, Y and Z axes respectively. Complete with a 16 position automatic tool change and the latest Heidenhain TNC CNC system, this user friendly CNC control can generate canned cycles, accept ISO code programming and work in conjunction with off-line feeds from CAD/CAM systems. Incorporating high-end drives and guideways, the Ajax AJV550 delivers rapids of 36 m/min.

Both these machines at MACH will be provided at a special anniversary offer price, with a celebration VMC range starting at £29,950, including an 18-month warranty.
