With all the advantages of a full CNC machining centre, the 4-tonne, ISO40 spindle AJCBM1000 can mill, drill, bore and tap, providing 3-axis interpolation, without the confines of a fully enclosed work envelope.
The AJCBM1000 has 1,000 by 500 by 500 mm movement in X, Y and Z axes, and is capable of supporting workpieces up to 800 kg, while the 7.5 hp motor provides a high level of torque throughout the speed range of 50 to 4000 rpm. (AJCBM bed mills are available in eight models, ranging from 720 to 3,000 mm in X-axis.)
As with all machines from the Ajax stable, the AJCBM1000 is assembled at Ajax Machine Tools’ Lymington, Hants, headquarters, where a team of experienced engineers provide a bespoke assembly service. This allows customers to choose a range of options that includes the choice of CNC controls from Heidenhain, Fanuc, Fagor or Siemens.
Says UK sales manager Ian Fenton: “All our machines are Renishaw laser calibrated to demonstrate that every machine installed is calibrated to a precision level that is better than the ± 10 micron range that appears in some of our literature. In reality, the AJCBM1000 machines are closer to a 2 to 3 micron calibration level. A figure that is unheard of in the market where these machines are sold.
