The seven CNC-driven axes are used for the automated measurement of any type of cutting tool – from the measurement of the outer contour through to full operator-independent checks; all documented and recorded.
A further attribute of the Titan is its integrated interferometric laser, which is designed to boost the measurement of edge preparation. In the aerospace industry, for example, many tools need to have edges featuring a radius, as tools that are too sharp can promote unwanted crack propagation in workpieces. Titan helps check these radii, which typically measure 4-8 micron.
