Zoller introduces Smile/Pilot 2.0 mT presetting and measuring machine

Zoller UK is introducing the Smile/Pilot 2.0 mT (myTouch) presetting and measuring machine. It is designed to fill the market gap between basic machines and advanced systems and to be within the budgets of small and medium sized manufacturing companies.

The Zoller Smile mT features a 'myTouch' user interface comprising a touch-screen that displays individual windows. These can be 'swiped' like a tablet computer and moved to the required location. The system features a 17-inch TFT touch-screen, a Windows 7 Ultimate operating system, 10th generation measuring machine control, 8 GB of working memory, advanced image processing and a CCD camera with integrated, multi-LED incident lights. The customised graphical user interface and clear structure are designed for quick and easy operation. Included default functions are automatic recognition of the cutting edge, shape and measuring range, dynamic crosshairs, dimmable cutting edge inspection, real-time measurement, automatic zero point monitoring, and independent selection between radius, diameter, absolute value, differential measure and incremental dimension for all axes. A newly-designed toolholder spindle makes power operated clamping available even to limited budgets. Power clamping promotes concentricity and repeatability of 2 µm. Other options include an SK 50 vacuum spindle, a centre height measuring device camera, connection to Pilot 3.0 database and integration of Zoller's TMS (Tool Management Solutions). The Smile mT can accommodate cutting tools measuring up to 600 mm in height and 420 mm in diameter.
