Wogaard Coolant Saver recovers neat oils

Wogaard's Coolant Saver has now been developed for the recovery of low viscosity neat oils, used typically for cooling and lubricating turned components produced on Swiss-style sliding-head lathes, as well as for gear hobbers, broaching and honing machines.

A recent test installation on a customer's Citizen sliding-head lathe, using vegetable-based oil with a viscosity of 10 mm2/s, proved successful, with installation and performance levels that parallel those of the original water-soluble oil Coolant Saver, says Wogaard.

"The recent introduction of semi-synthetic oils by the leading coolant suppliers, with much lower viscosities, has further widened the potential use of the neat oil Wogaard Coolant Saver," says Jason Hutt, business development director. "We know that customers have accomplished significant cost savings, based on emulsion coolant, with ROI achieved well within 6 months. Imagine the savings that can be realised with neat oil."
