Wightman Stewart introduces Accustream Dialine customisable waterjet cutting head

AccuStream has developed what it says is the industry's first customisable waterjet cutting head - it is supplied in the UK by Wightman Stewart. A wide range of adapter configurations available allows the Dialine cutting head with any type of waterjet system.

AccuStream's Dialine head can also be tailored to specific operational needs. Its abrasives body, the inlet for cutting abrasive feed line lines and the nozzle can each be customised. There is then a choice of standard or swivel adapters, diamond or ruby orifices and thimble filters for added protection. Abrasive bodies are available in 0.281, 0.300, or 0.281-inch dual inlet versions. The adapter head connections allow the abrasive inlet to be rotated, facilitating exact placement. The abrasive inlet option includes a 3/16-inch abrasive inlet for connection to smaller abrasives feed lines. An optional dual inlet makes vacuum assisted cutting possible when low pressure piercing of brittle materials is required. Nozzle options on the AccuStream Dialine head include a choice of three nozzle nuts to permit customised cutting head configurations while the nozzle guard design significantly reduces wear and protects the cutting head, says AccuStream. A second replaceable carbide-lined nut is offered for maximum protection and wear resistance. The diamond orifice securely and precisely engages the diamond to produce a concentric stream alignment to the cutting nozzle. The removable diamond mount provides maximum flexibility for a variety of cutting applications. A ruby will offer the same quality of cut but will have a shorter working life, says AccuStream. The Dialine head's mixing chamber is manufactured from high wear resistant material designed for use with the abrasive waterjet process. In some instances, the life of the diamond orifice surpasses that of the mixing chamber which, if necessary, can be easily replaced to maximise the diamond's life.
