WARDJet CNC unit offer multiple benefits, including remote control

WARDJet has developed a new control system for its water jet cutting machines that includes a number of advanced features - the X-Classic.

All WARDJet waterjet cutting machines can be upgraded to the full capability of an X-Classic unit. Features of the new control include a double touch-screen control, internet connection for instant automatic updates, built-in camera and the option for simultaneous multiple head 5-axis cutting capability. It has a Windows XP Professional operating system interface and is fully networkable. Instant automatic free updates are available to users and there is also easy access to on-line manuals and the ability to order spare parts directly from the controller. A claimed unique selling point of the CNC controller is the total remote control. This allows access by Wightman Stewart/WARDJet technicians for service and training, and can be set-up from anywhere in the world. Wiring to the controller is simple with just one network cable and one power cable. The 15" touch- screen unit can be mounted and operated from either the right or left of the machine. The main touch-screen focuses on monitoring all water jet cutting and operations, while the second touch- screen operates CADCAM software and provides direct access to the on-line help. The built-in web-cam can also play any help/training videos. An associated PDA wireless pendant is also available for remote control from an office or even home. It communicates via Bluetooth and WiFi, with the ability to jog the machine, start and stop parts, as well as providing information on the cutting process such as the amount of time left to cut.
