Walter Xtra.tec F4338 porcupine cutter benefits from additional axial fixed stop

The Xtra.tec F4338 porcupine cutter's additional axial fixed stop holding the front row of inserts makes a difference to process reliability in heavy duty high volume machining, says Walter.

Available in diameters from 63 to 125 mm, the Walter Xtra.Tec F4338 features large insert seats for type AD.T 1807 indexable inserts, which can be sintered on their full circumference or circumference ground. Plunge depths up to 95 mm can be achieved with helically-arranged cutting edges – and the cutter can be applied to all steels and cast irons (with Tiger.tec Silver inserts) as well as hard-to-machine materials (with PVD-Alox coated inserts). One-piece tool bodies with HSK or SK fittings are available, and the tool can also be supplied as a shell end milling cutter and as a modular tool unit with NCT adaptor.
