Walter updates Alpha 4 drill range with solid carbon versions
Walter GB is replacing its Alpha 4 drill series with solid carbide high performance versions from the X•treme product range. The new generation Walter Titex X•treme drills feature four lands (instead of two) for improved guidance which enhances process reliability, and have an XPL aluminium chrome nitride-based coating so that they are suitable for ISO material groups
X•treme drills are available in diameters from 3 to 25 mm and have internal cooling configuration to DIN 6537 (where the length/bore ratio is around five times diameter). They have a 140º point angle and an HA or HE shank to DIN 6535. The h6 shank tolerance enables seating in shrink fit chucks.
