Walter’s Capto clamping speeds drill changing

Walter GB reports that using the Capto interface clamping system for its Xtra.tec insert drills with Tiger.tec Silver indexable inserts enables users to benefit from faster toolchanging. According to Walter, Capto's polygonal interface also offers better handling of high transmission forces.

Available in diameters from 16 to 45 mm, and able to drill to depths of 3xD, Xtra.tec insert drills can now be supplied with modular shanks for Capto clamping. With conical polygon clamping and backlash-free connection, Capto boasts a repeatability accuracy of ±2 micron, high clamping force and a good support face. In addition, it is self-centring, so no detent is required.
