Walter Ewag introduces Diamond Plus package
Walter Ewag UK, part of the United Grinding Group, has announced Diamond Plus as a boost to PCD tool production on its Walter Helitronic Power Diamond tool production machines. Diamond Plus enables users to reduce production times by up to 40% and improve cutting edge quality (edge chipping down to just 5 micron at 10 micron grain size), says the company.
Designed for the two-in-one Helitronic Power Diamond, the Diamond Plus package (which can be retrofitted to Helitronic Power Diamond machines with Fanuc CNCs) is based on newly developed software and an advanced GIF (generator interface) card in the machine generator.
The GIF solution – the 'brain' of the generator – includes a variable acceleration factor that monitors and controls process variation automatically to produce the optimum erosion environment.
The first user in the world of Diamond Plus is Technicut, a Sheffield-based cutting tool manufacturer.
