Walter adds to ConeFit interchangeable head milling range

Additions to Walter GB's modular solid carbide ConeFit interchangeable head milling range include spade-type double-edged modular tooling and special heads for machining graphite.

Produced from double-edged blanks, the spade-shaped changeable heads are particularly suited to copy milling, plunge milling, chamfering, centring and spot-facing. They can be used universally with ISO material groups P, M, K, N, S and O, and for applications requiring only two cutting edges; for example, when using a ballnose endmill. Spade-type tools include the PCD-coated N50 variants (four-flute cutters with corner radius and as double-edged ballnose endmills) for graphite machining, as well as the N10 model with corner radius (which, with spur geometry, also lends itself to plunging). Ballnose endmills (with and without TAX coating) are also available, along with the high feedrate Flash mill, plus mills for chamfering and centring. The latter are available in 60, 90, 120 and 150º versions and in addition to their use for deburring, they can also be applied to centre drilling and engraving. Another ConeFit addition is the Prototyp Proto.max ST endmill, designed for maximum chip volume during both roughing and finishing on steel and stainless steel. It is available with the ConeFit interface as a four-flute variant, with and without corner radius. The ConeFit range is available in 10 to 25 mm diameters and combines a VHM changeable milling head with a steel toolholder. VHM toolholders and monoblock adaptors with HSK63, SK40 or Capto C5 and C6 are also available.
