Uprated turning grades resists built-up edge problem

TaeguTec’s TT5100 and TT5030 insert grades are for reduced cutting friction and built-up edges when machining mild steel, stainless steel and other difficult to cut materials. Already in existence, the grades have been improved with technology that will provide significant performance improvements compared to previously supplied TT5100 and TT5030 inserts. The new technology incorporates precise surface treatment with CVD and PVD coatings that will provide an extremely smooth outer TiN coating layer. This new coating allows the inserts to reduce cutting friction, improve surface finishes and reduce built-up edges, which in turn will deliver significantly improved tool life. These new inserts will be delivered for all negative chip breakers CNMG size 4 and all positive chip breakers CCMT size 3. Already successfully working on materials like inconel, satellite, titanium, alloy, stainless and chrome steels the new grades have already delivered “staggering” results, it is claimed.
