Tornos GT13 turning centre pitched at small parts

The Tornos GT13 turning centre has been developed for the production of relatively complex, small components. Incorporating the kinematics of the larger GT26, the machine features all necessary adaptations to support machining of parts from 2 to 13 mm bar diameter.

The unit is available with either five or six linear axes, with the 5-axis variant incorporating an X1 and Y1 axis. This modular configuration can accept a number of toolholders and driven tools, while the rear spindle is located on a cross-sliding carriage that allows back-end working simultaneous with main spindle operations.

The 6-axis variant is equipped with an additional linear axis for back operation (Y4), with this design offering increased numbers of positions and tools, while easing tool setting. The 6-axis version of the Swiss GT13 may be fitted with up to 30 tools, with this including 12 rotating tools.
