Three Elumatec machines make quick work of frame profiles

Three machines from Elumatec cut and saw aluminium and PVC window and door profiles.

The Elumatec SBZ 137 4-axis profile machining centre features a machine table that is tilted 30° towards the operator, for ease of use, visibility and swarf removal. Machining times are substantially shortened, thanks to the ring module, which can run at a speed of up to 150 m/min on the machine bed for profile machining. The increased speed comes from the very small safety gap that reduces travel distances. The special feed cylinder on the Elumatec SBZ 616 sawing centre enables precise sawing of aluminium and plastic profiles from below. With maximum saw blade diameter of 550 mm, it can handle large profiles, and produce in volume, too: the machine's magazine feed holds up to nine lengths of profile. A mechanical damping system reduces saw resistance, allowing steady sawing of multi-chamber profiles with large cavities. The standard version of the SBZ 616 will cut at 45 and 90° angles, while the Vario version offers stepless and freely programmable cutting at all angles between22.5 to 157.5°. With the SBZ 617 profile, the operator can machine all profile surfaces steplessly at every angle from 0 to 360°. In support of this, the machine's rotationmodule integrates milling spindles with freely programmable spindle speed, as well as geared drilling motors that can be rotated to the desired angle. An optional notching station enables machining of windows with transoms and profile end machining. The SBZ616 sawing centre and SBZ617 machining centre can be combined to form a single sawing and machining centre.
