Thame simplifies workholding with Alufix modular system

Developed for use on CMMs and measuring fixtures, checking gauges, assembly or welding fixtures, the Alufix modular workholding range from Thame is aimed at manufacturers conducting design projects and producing R&D and prototype parts where product development changes are commonplace.

Manufactured from high-tensile aluminium, the system is available in six sizes that can be combined with each other according to the application. According to Thame, the potential for the Alufix is almost infinite; base plates, bars, struts, blocks, clamps, screws and connectors all have the ability to interconnect to create the clamping structure required.

Once the appropriate clamping device has been built, it can be disassembled and the individual components used for new assemblies. The bars and base plates that form the system's construction are provided in grid dimensions of 16, 25, 40 and 50 mm, with centralised hole diameters of 8, 12.5, 20 and 25 mm.
