TaeguTec has introduced its Eccenter Sleeve for reducing or enlarging nominal drilling diameters.
The new sleeve can be used on machining centres, lathes and even misaligned turning centres. The Eccenter Sleeve also reduces set-up times and tool changeovers by enabling the end user to incrementally change hole diameter by turning a screw.
The sleeves come in four different standard sizes to accommodate drill shank diameters of 20, 25, 32 and 40 mm. They can be used for enlarging the nominal drilling diameter on machining centres to a maximum of +0.4 mm above the specified diameter.
The sleeves can also reduce the drilling diameter by up to 0.2 mm. For example, they can accommodate a 30 mm diameter drill on a machining centre and the drill can then deviate from 29.8 mm to 30.4 mm diameter.
When used on lathes, a maximum enlargement of 0.2 mm can be achieved.
On a machining centre, the sleeve operates by shifting the drill's axis out of the tool spindle to change the drill's nominal diameter.
On a lathe, the Eccenter sleeve can shift the drill's axis to coincide with the spindle axis.
