Sumitomo introduces WFX shoulder mills

Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal has unveiled its WFX 90° shoulder milling cutter range that can be combined with the company’s latest coated, four-corner inserts to deliver levels of axial run-out within 0.03 mm on most common engineering metals.

The WFX08000 screw-locking insert bodies are available in shell, end-mill or modular types, enabling cutting depths up to 6 mm, while WFX08000RS shell-mill-type bodies between 40 and 100 mm diameter have a standard pitch between three and eight teeth, WFXM fine pitch between four and 10 teeth, and WFXF extra-fine pitch between six and 12 teeth.

The standard shank-type end-mill WFX-E is available in diameters from 20 to 63 mm with two to five teeth, while WFXM-E fine pitch comes in diameters between 25 and 63 mm diameter, with three to six teeth. Additionally, the modular WFX08000M, with 20 to 40 mm diameter bodies, has either two or three teeth.
