Steinbichler portable ABIS optimiser speeds product development
Steinbichler Optotechnik's ABIS optimiser, a portable laser surface testing system, provides objective surface evaluation of a part during processing. It has been developed for use at an extremely early stage of manufacture to speed up tool design, pilot production and process optimisation.
The robustly constructed Steinbichler ABIS optimiser is equipped with dust-proof optical components so that the device can be used in the most difficult industrial environments. Blue LED technology and a revised technical design enable the unit to track and communicate an impression of the appearance and depth of dents, distortion, rippling and other abnormalities during tool design and development, and also during the entire process chain.
The ABIS optimiser tracking system is equipped with the company's latest T-Scan sensor, which has a large dynamic range on the most varied surfaces.
