Solid carbide drills offer improved productivity and tool life

ITC has now developed its 1052 Cyber Series of solid carbide drills to improve productivity and tool life, when machining non-ferrous alloys, nickel-based materials, titanium, cast iron, steels and stainless steels.

The 1052 Series of high performance drills has a 5xd effective drill length for producing deep holes. With an ALTiN coating, the ultra-wear-resistant micro-grain carbide drills have a through-coolant facility that delivers liquid directly to the cutting edge. The combination of a coolant facility direct to the cutting edge and a rigid and robust composition enables the 1052 series to drill at feeds and speed beyond competitor drills, it is clamed. The series is available from 3 to 12 mm diameter in 0.1mm increments, with drills from 12 to 20 mm available in 0.5 mm increments. This diversity enables the end user to eradicate the need for reaming, with hole precision and surface finish beyond competitor offerings. The series has a flute length from 28 to 101 mm, with an overall length from 66 to 153 mm.
