Siemens releases Sinumerik Operate 4.7

Siemens UK & Ireland is releasing version 4.7 of Sinumerik Operate, its CNC interface, offering newly developed software-supported features to increase machining precision and productivity.

The Sinumerik ‘Auto Servo Tuning’ algorithm makes it possible to optimise machine dynamics. Where flexible production leads to changes in the mass of workpieces, toolholders or tools on a machine, the parameters for increasing productivity and quality can be adjusted via Auto Servo Tuning.

The latest software update enables the algorithm to be activated directly via the CNC program on Sinumerik 840D sl controls. As a result, each time processing parameters change, processing steps are optimised.

Additionally, the ‘Adapt Jerk Filter Time’ (AJET) feature for Sinumerik 840D sl controls optimises motion sequences. According to Siemens, AJET recognises the different phases of interpolation and fast traverse, and switches between the parameters automatically to achieve the best possible quality during machining and superior productivity during positioning.
