Self-contained automated turning cell

Requiring just 1.4 m by 1.48 m floor space, it has a programmable double-gripper gantry integrated loading system to form a self-contained turning cell, with this meaning production can be set for maximum productivity by duplicating the same cycle at each independent spindle or perform first and second successive operational cycles to machine both ends of a completed part. Each 2.2 kW, 8,000 rpm spindle is serviced from its own two-axis platen-based tooling platform each able to accommodate up to five tools, while additional functions, such as ganged or combination tools and high speed driven tools, can be supplied as an option. Two entry doors at either end of the machining zone provide easy access from the front of the machine, where palleted pre- and post-machined components are held. And such is the configuration of the double gripper component handling unit that loading time, which typically takes just 6 secs, can be effectively overlapped within the production cycle.
