Citizen introduces Ocean Cincom GN-4200 turning cell
The compact, single-spindle Ocean Cincom GN-4200 turning cell available from Citizen Machinery is aimed at precision and hard turning operations involving high volume parts up to 45 mm diameter with a machining length up to 80 mm. The machine also provides extended unmanned running through its integrated gantry load and unload system.
The 5.5 kW, 8,000 rpm spindle of the GN-4200 is mounted via a 'wing sleeve' to a rigid flat-bed that is thermally symmetric in its construction. This build factor has high damping characteristics in order to maintain consistent tolerance levels for size, geometry and surface finish, with the added capability to maximise tool life, says Citizen.
The tool platen arrangement provides six toolholder positions over its 500 mm length, while the integrated 2-axis loading system incorporates twin grippers. Axis movements of are 154 m/min are achieved on the loading system through a rigid rack and pinion system.
