Seco’s Jabro-HFM JHF181 end-mills suit hard steels and nickel alloys

Seco has introduced a solid carbide end-mill that is said to boost metal removal rates and tool life. The Jabro-HFM JHF181 is a range of cutters for the high feed milling of hardened steels and nickel-based alloys. According to Seco, the cutters can increase metal removal rates by up to 30%, in comparison to more traditional solid carbide end-mills.

JHF181 cutters are effective where long tool overhangs are required and where a mix of multiple axial and radial machining operations is employed. The cutters feature Seco’s newly developed HXT coating is said to deliver thermal protection and wear resistance.

JHF181 end-mills are available with two-, four- or five-flute options in diameters ranging from 2 to 16 mm and lengths from 2xD to 7xD. The cutters also have through-tool coolant capability for diameters between 6 and 12 mm.
