Schwanog PWP-D system form tools perform drilling and turning in a single set-up

The Schwanog PWP-D form tools drilling available from Floyd Automatic Tooling are capable of machining up to a bore diameter of 28 mm with a depth of 13 mm.

The Schwanog PWP-D form drilling tools are suitable for use on all types of turning, drilling and machining centres and can conduct drilling, facing and finishing of external chamfers in a single operation. The system consists of a shank and an inversely ground and sharpened insert tailored to customer requirements to a minimum tolerance of ±0.02 mm. A Schwanog form tool system can be developed from any customer drawing or requirement – spherical contours, face grooves and two-fold cutting edges, for example, can be created to reduce tooling inventory and manufacturing processes A wide variety of insert grades and coatings enable highly productive machining of all material types while a through coolant facility supports the productivity and swarf clearance. Tool life and surface finishes are enhanced by the PWP system's V-shaped insert seat and screw clamping system. This novel design provides rigidity and clamping strength for accuracy, tolerance and surface finish levels.
