Schunk introduces Kontec KSM2 multi-clamping vice as reliable all-rounder

The Kontec KSM2 multi-clamping vice from Schunk is designed for reliable, high feedrates and precise stationary workpiece clamping. When used on 3, 4, or 5-axis machines, it can clamp several parts located next to each other at the same time. It is available in lengths between 260 and 650 mm and jaw widths of 65 or 90 mm, and achieves clamping forces up to 25 kN

The Schunk Kontec KSM2 has slim jaws and minimal interfering contours to allow high part density with accessibility. A hardened and ground fine serration offers maximum robustness, precision, and dimensional stability. Wedge-shaped clamping elements ensure that the workpiece is pulled down during the clamping process, no matter how big it is. A single actuation key is all that is required to actuate clamping. Equipped with adapter plates and standardised interfaces, the Kontec KSM2 can be combined with the Schunk Vero-S NSE plus 138 quick-change pallet system. Any gauges for bore holes can be quickly adjusted within a grid of 2 mm along the multi-clamping vice. For machining dynamically balanced parts, the vice can be equipped with a Schunk manual Rota-S plus 2.0 lathe chuck. It can also be combined with numerous Schunk parallel chuck jaws.
