Sandvik Coromant launch ISO insert programme

Sandvik Coromant has launched more than 300 inserts in a new series of optimised ISO S turning geometries, with easy-to-choose guidelines to meet every titanium and HRSA machining requirement.

The series is designed specifically for turning heat resistant super alloy (HRSA) and titanium alloys, from roughing to finishing, and from continuous to interrupted cuts, these new geometries ensure easy optimisation, improved productivity, first rate process security and high quality surface generation. The ISO S programme features six different geometries which are designed to handle depths of cuts from 0.2 to 10 mm with excellent chip control and low tool pressure. Four geometries are introduced for moderate to small depths of cuts in light roughing to finishing applications, while two stronger geometries are launched to suit larger depths of cut in roughing or light roughing operations.
