Sandvik Coromant introduces CoroMill 357 tough face milling cutter

Sandvik Coromant has introduced CoroMill 357 face milling cutter for roughing and cubing in steel and cast iron and is said to be capable of high metal removal rates in applications involving intermittent component figurations, components with uneven stock or forgings, welding and castings.

CoroMill 357's double-sided thick pentagonal inserts, housed in shim-protected tip seats, contribute to production efficiency. The strong cutter body has a novel insert clamping system that facilitates quick and easy insert indexing. It also features large support faces radially, axially and on the base which prevent deformation. Suitable for ISO 50 and larger machines, CoroMill 357 takes up to a 10 mm depth of cut with a feed per tooth up to 0.7 mm/z. CoroMill 357 is available in 100-315 mm diameter sizes.
