Roughing and semi finish milling cutter for low power machines

Roughing and semi finish milling cutter for low power machines

The ‘Z-Mill’ cutter for roughing and semi-finish milling is ideally suited for low powered machines and non-rigid set-ups. The Z Mill is designed to accommodate hexagonal inserts with six positive cutting edges for optimum productivity and reduced tooling costs. The insert is clamped on the cutter with a uniquely designed seat and screw for extremely rigid clamping. The result is wide chip spacing due to the absence of wedges and smooth and efficient cutting. The inclined screw axis on the cutter body permits use of fine-pitch cutters that improve productivity and can be used for cast iron machining. The new Z-Mill range covers 50 to 125 mm diameters and it can comfortably machine to a depth of 3.5 mm. The high positive rake angle reduces cutting forces and requires less power – making the Z-Mill the ideal for machines with little power but where maximum productivity is required. Enhancing this feature further is the 60° entry angle that reduces shock and impact forces to ensure the cutter enters the workpiece smoothly.
