Punching and nibbling burrs eliminated, automatically

The latest McKechnie 131-EC sheet edge de-burring machine, available through Shear-Form Machine Tools, is ideal for removing burrs and scallops on a wide range of materials, including mild steel, brass, galvanised steel and especially stainless steel, normally difficult to de-burr using other methods.

There are usually three problems created on straight edges using a CNC punching or nibbling machine: first, a burr left on the bottom edge; second pips, nibs and microjoints on the 90° outside edge, which can cause mis-alignment when used in a press brake operation; and, third, tool deformation marks on the top edge. The McKecknie 131-EC can eliminate all these problems in one single pass at speeds up to 20 m per minute on sheet material, with thicknesses ranging from 0.5 – 6.6 mm and up to 1.5 m wide. A feature of this de-burrer is that it is 10x times faster than using manual methods and is more cost-effective as it uses only one pass to de-burr a straight edge producing a better finish and a return on investment between 68-100% annually.
